I am a 15 year old high school student and I breed rats, as you may have guessed after stumbling across my site. Not only do I own rats, but I am also the mommy to two sugar gliders and two ferrets. Other animals in our house include dogs, fish, and a frog. The primary reason for breeding rats is not only to help make a little bit of money, but also to experience babies grow - and do they grow fast! I also do not enjoy seeing skittish rats and other animals in the cages at pet stores, an so I handle the babies daily to ensure that they make great pets for anyone of nearly any age.
Jenga is my girlie. Both of the rats are named after board games. :p
She is an excellent mother and a sweet little rat. I purchased her from a Petco in town. She was very skittish at first, and would even squeak when I touched her. She allows me to hold and love her now, and she's just a cool rat. :)
Checkers helps Jenga make her babies. As we all know, you can't have just ONE parent making babies! I got him from a Petsmart, and I try to interact with him, but all he wants to do is jump back into his safe zone - his cage. I feel bad for not letting him out and run around at all, but he doesn't enjoy being handled, so I basically leave him alone, which is what he prefers.
